Photo courtesy of the Herald Sun.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Last night Coen Ashton attended the annual Pride of Australia National Medals in Sydney where he was awarded the night&#8217;s greatest honour, the inaugural People&#8217;s Choice medal.<\/p>\n<p>Coen is also Queensland&#8217;s Child of Courage 2011 winner, a medal he was awarded after he jet skied 2000km along the Murray River to raise awareness for organ donation.<\/p>\n<p>Coen has cystic fibrosis and Type 1 diabetes and is a patient at the Royal Children&#8217;s Hospital (RCH). He is currently awaiting a double lung transplant.<\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s no surprise the Herald Sun said Coen &#8220;quickly proved to be the crowd&#8217;s favourite&#8221; at last night&#8217;s awards.
