{"id":10840,"date":"2026-09-11T12:31:43","date_gmt":"2026-09-11T02:31:43","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.rch.org.au\/news\/?p=10840"},"modified":"2026-09-11T12:47:18","modified_gmt":"2026-09-11T02:47:18","slug":"10840-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.rch.org.au\/news\/10840-2\/","title":{"rendered":"Medical staff stop work \u2013 15 September 2026"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Some doctors at The Royal Children&#8217;s Hospital (RCH) will stop work for 24 hours.<\/p>\n<p>The action will begin at 7am on Tuesday 15 September and end at 6:59am on Wednesday 16 September 2026.<\/p>\n<p>Our teams are working together to make sure patients and families continue to receive safe care.<\/p>\n<p><strong>If you have an appointment with Specialist Clinics<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>We currently expect your appointment to proceed, but it may be affected. If so, we will contact you directly.<\/p>\n<p>You may:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Wait longer than usual<\/li>\n<li>See a different doctor<\/li>\n<li>Have your appointment changed or cancelled<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>If you have a question, please call Specialist Clinics on <strong>9345 6180<\/strong> between 8:30am and 5pm, Monday to Friday.<\/p>\n<p>You can also reschedule your appointment online via the Specialist Clinics change of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rch.org.au\/specialist-clinics\/appointments\/Specialists_clinics_change_of_appointment_form\/\">appointment form<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>If you have surgery<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>While we expect your surgery to proceed, some planned surgeries during the stop work period may need to be rescheduled.
