These tools help our clinicians focus more on children and families during appointments and less on the computer.<\/p>\n<p>Using an ambient scribe is always optional.<\/p>\n<p>We will only use this technology if you and your child give clear consent.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>What is an AI Ambient Scribe?<br \/>\n<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>AI Ambient Scribes (also called AI medical scribes) are secure tools that use audio and artificial intelligence to help write clinical notes.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Here\u2019s how they work:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>They listen to the conversation between the clinician, your child, and family during the appointment.<\/li>\n<li>The tool then produces a draft clinical note, instead of the clinician needing to type during or after your visit.<\/li>\n<li>This allows the clinician to maintain eye contact, listen closely, and stay fully focused on your child.<\/li>\n<li>Only the clinical team can see these draft notes, and clinicians always review and approve them.<strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2><strong>Why are we using this technology?<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>We want to create the best possible experience for children and families.<\/p>\n<p>Ambient scribes can help by:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Reducing time clinicians spend typing<\/li>\n<li>Allowing clinicians to be more present during appointments<\/li>\n<li>Supporting accuracy and completeness in clinical notes<\/li>\n<li>Helping teams share information quickly and safely<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Integrating AI ambient scribes at the RCH, enable our staff to better support patient care and a smoother experience for you and your child.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Any questions?<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>For further information, visit <a href=\"http:\/\/rch.org.au\/ai-ambient-scribe\">rch.org.au\/ai-ambient-scribe<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>We\u2019re introducing AI Ambient Scribes in selected areas of the hospital.
