Neurodevelopment and Disability has a new Director

 

We are excited to announce that Dr Gordon Baikie as been appointed as the Director of Neurodevelopment and Disability.

 

Gordon commenced working in the department in the mid 90’s having received his Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians.  Gordon went on to complete a Doctorate of Medicine and more recently a health economics degree.

 

Gordon has been acting in the Director role for 18 months.  He has displayed excellent leadership skills during this time so his formal appointment is very welcome.  Gordon is a very valued member of our team.  His colleagues describe him as an excellent and caring clinician, a wonderful team player and he has an extraordinary capacity to make everyone feel valued.

 

Gordon brings considerable experience to the role having worked in both developed and resource limited settings. He has previously worked for Health Frontiers in Laos where he assisted with the establishment of the first multidisciplinary team assessment clinic at the hospital.

 

Gordon has strong commitment to education and research and we look forward to advancing the care of children and young people with neurodisability under his leadership.
