Past Grand Round presenters have described how this has enhanced their service \u2013 how genomic care may improve patient outcomes, is cost-effective and can be delivered rapidly for acute cases.<\/p>\n<p>The Melbourne Genomics Health Alliance member organisations \u2013 including the RCH \u2013 have worked together for over a decade to catalyse the implementation of genomics in health services across Victoria and its adoption by health professionals.<\/p>\n<p>By design, Melbourne Genomics will draw to a close at the end of this year. \u00a0This Grand Round presentation will present insights from across this highly-impactful program and its many sites to answer the question: \u00a0how can change not only be created but sustained?<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Speaker<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Professor Clara Gaff<\/strong> is the Executive Director of Melbourne Genomics Health Alliance, an Honorary Professorial Fellow at the University of Melbourne and leads the Genomics in Society group at the Murdoch Children\u2019s Research Institute.<\/p>\n<p>Professor Gaff has a PhD in molecular genetics and is a registered genetic counsellor. During her diverse career, she has held roles in\u00a0genetic counselling, government, research, health professional education, and strategic development in Australia and the United Kingdom. \u00a0She has served on national and international advisory committees on health translation, ethics and genomics, for bodies such as the National Health and Medical Research Council, Genome Canada, and the Global Alliance for Genomics and Health.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Genomics has moved rapidly from being purely a research tool to being part of routine care in many specialities and health services.
