We will highlight the improvements and changing trends in child deaths, and emerging causes of morbidity. We will provide an update on recent recommendations from CCOPMM on the prevention of infant, child and adolescent deaths.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Speakers<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Dr Sophie Treleaven<\/strong> is a paediatrician and public health physician, who is the paediatric epidemiologist at CCOPMM. \u00a0She is a member of the Neonatal and Child and Adolescent subcommittees of CCOPMM. \u00a0Her main role is the analysis of deaths in the 28 day &#8211; 17 year age group, together with the development of evidence-based recommendations for CCOPMM.<br \/>\n<strong>Professor Jeremy Oats<\/strong> is an obstetrician who chairs the Consultative Council. He is a graduate of University of Adelaide (MBBS) and Nottingham University (DM), with previous appointments as Associate Professor Obstetrics and Gynaecology at the University of Melbourne, and Professor Obstetrics and Gynaecology University of Queensland. Jeremy is currently Professorial Fellow at Melbourne School of Population and Global Health. He has been Medical Co-Director of Integrated Maternity Services Northern Territory, and worked in Timor Leste and PNG.
