2019 has been a busy and exciting year at the RCH and we hope you enjoy reading about some of our achievements to date.
Our craniofacial and neurosurgery teams performed incredible lifesaving surgery on two-year old Jack, who was the first case of his type in the world.
The RCH is Australia’s first hospital to be accredited by the Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society as Stage 7 for its Outpatient EMR Adoption Model, and the latest recipient of the Asia Pacific HIMSS-Elsevier Digital Healthcare Award.
This new program is providing a pathway for low-risk oncology patients to be safely cared for in their own home, with support from Hospital in the Home.
Sonja Elia is Victoria’s first Nurse Practitioner in the field of Immunisation. This year she’s travelling internationally and undertaking training, so she can make our Immunisation Clinic a more culturally appropriate service for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander families.
Dr Mekonnen is completing his training at the RCH to become Ethiopia’s first paediatric cardiac surgeon and change the lives of children in his country.
It’s been another record-breaking Good Friday Appeal, raising an outstanding $18,175,467 for the RCH!
The RCH values diversity and inclusion in all facets, so for International Women’s Day we celebrated five women who contribute to our community in different ways.
