{"id":92,"date":"2011-08-09T06:39:39","date_gmt":"2011-08-09T06:39:39","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.rch.org.au\/ccch\/?p=92"},"modified":"2011-08-09T06:44:46","modified_gmt":"2011-08-09T06:44:46","slug":"childrens-place-on-the-agenda","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.rch.org.au\/ccch\/2011\/08\/09\/childrens-place-on-the-agenda\/","title":{"rendered":"CCCH and NIFTeY conference puts children on the agenda"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Centre for Community Child Health and the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.niftey.net\/\">National Investment for the Early Years<\/a> (NIFTeY) hosted \u2018Children\u2019s Place on the Agenda &#8230; Past, Present and Future\u2019 \u2013 a national conference that explored the place of children on the Australian political agenda.<\/p>\n<p>More than 400 delegates from the early childhood sector attended the event, held in Sydney from 28-29 July.<\/p>\n<p>The keynote addresses were from:<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px\">\u2022 Professor Frank Gilliam, USA<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px\">\u2022 Professor Alan Hayes, Australia<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px\">\u2022 Joanne Shroeder, Canada<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px\">\u2022 Professor Frank Oberklaid, Australia<\/p>\n<p>The Hon. Peter Garrett, Minister for School Education, Early Childhood and Youth also spoke.
