{"id":4718,"date":"2022-07-28T11:12:01","date_gmt":"2022-07-28T01:12:01","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.rch.org.au\/ccch\/?p=4718"},"modified":"2022-07-28T13:19:32","modified_gmt":"2022-07-28T03:19:32","slug":"group-facilitation-for-mental-health-practitioners","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.rch.org.au\/ccch\/2022\/07\/28\/group-facilitation-for-mental-health-practitioners\/","title":{"rendered":"Group facilitation for mental health practitioners"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>The Department of Education and Training funded the Centre\u2019s Training and Development team to deliver small group facilitation workshops to more than 150 mental health practitioners in Victorian secondary schools.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Small Group Facilitation workshops have been held across the Melbourne metropolitan areas well as Swan Hill, Benalla, Seymour, Bendigo and Leongatha regions.<\/p>\n<p>Informed by the Family Partnership Model (Davis, Day, Bidmead, Centre for Parent and Child support, 2002), the two-day Small Group Facilitation workshop aims to increase participants\u2019:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>appreciation of the characteristics of facilitation that reflects partnership<\/li>\n<li>awareness of the skills and qualities of an effective facilitator<\/li>\n<li>understanding of the tools and techniques of facilitation that reflect adult learning principles<\/li>\n<li>awareness of the process of content development and planning for training facilitation<\/li>\n<li>awareness of the use of reflection as both a learning tool for participants and facilitators<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Mental Health Practitioners will find this workshop relevant to their work in mental health prevention, promotion and early intervention with small groups within school settings.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Feedback from participants<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p><em>\u201cWonderful training, should be open to all School Support Staff, school wellbeing and leadership staff.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cFantastic and engaging 2 days with lots of valuable information to take away.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cThank you for facilitating this process workshop and experience for us.
