Find out how the Centre has been active in advocating infant and child mental health and wellbeing.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>With a\u00a0fast-moving\u00a0mental health\u00a0reform\u00a0environment at both State and Commonwealth Government levels, it\u00a0is a significant\u00a0window of opportunity to\u00a0ensuring\u00a0infant and child mental\u00a0health and wellbeing is central to\u00a0the\u00a0policy, program and system\u00a0delivery changes that will stem from these reforms.\u00a0<strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The Centre has provided submissions to the\u00a0draft\u00a0National Mental Health Workforce Strategy and\u00a0the Victorian Government\u2019s Mental Health Workforce Forum Outcomes Report.\u00a0Both submissions highlighted the importance of a concerted focus\u00a0to address the\u00a0issues impacting the\u00a0infant and child mental health workforce.\u00a0The Centre\u2019s submissions highlighted\u00a0key issues including the\u00a0attraction\u00a0and retention of a multidisciplinary child mental health\u00a0workforce, improved support for\u00a0a rural and regional workforce, funding models to support\u00a0evidence-based multidisciplinary\u00a0care and\u00a0increased workforce\u00a0capacity\u00a0building.<strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The Centre has also recently responded to Australia\u2019s draft Primary Health Care 10-year plan which identifies the first 2,000 days as a priority.
