{"id":4294,"date":"2021-07-20T10:19:32","date_gmt":"2021-07-20T00:19:32","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.rch.org.au\/ccch\/?p=4294"},"modified":"2021-07-20T10:19:32","modified_gmt":"2021-07-20T00:19:32","slug":"genv-launches-at-more-hospitals","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.rch.org.au\/ccch\/2021\/07\/20\/genv-launches-at-more-hospitals\/","title":{"rendered":"GenV launches at more hospitals"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>More than 5,000 participants (babies and\u00a0parents) have joined\u00a0<\/strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.genv.org.au\/\"><strong>GenV<\/strong><\/a><strong>\u00a0\u2014 one of the world\u2019s largest birth and parent cohort studies that aims to\u00a0transform the health and wellbeing of an entire generation. <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The\u202f<a href=\"https:\/\/www.mcri.edu.au\/\">Murdoch Children\u2019s Research Institute<\/a>\u00a0has begun\u202finviting Victorian parents and their newborns to take part in its\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.genv.org.au\/\">GenV<\/a>\u202fresearch project at\u202f<a href=\"https:\/\/genv.org.au\/for-parents\/where-is-genv-available\/\">additional hospitals<\/a>\u202facross Victoria.<\/p>\n<p>After\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/genv.org.au\/about-genv\/news-and-updates\/press-releases\/victorian-families-stand-to-benefit-as-mcri-commences-one-of-the-worlds-largest-ever-studies\/\">a successful launch<\/a>\u202fat Joan Kirner Women\u2019s and Children\u2019s Hospital in late 2020, GenV<\/p>\n<p>has\u00a0now\u00a0rolled out to\u00a0a\u00a0third of Victoria\u2019s birthing hospitals. They\u2019re\u00a0excited to announce the recruitment of over 5,000 participants (babies and\u00a0parents)\u00a0with numbers growing each day.<\/p>\n<p>The project will continue to scale-up\u00a0Victoria-wide.\u00a0Over two years,\u00a0every\u00a0family having a baby in Victoria will be offered the chance to participate in the study, no matter their background or location.<\/p>\n<p>GenV\u00a0is\u00a0one of\u202fthe world&#8217;s largest birth and parent cohort studies\u202fand aims to solve problems including allergies, obesity and mental illness.
