On Thursday 27 April, Victorian Minister for Families and Children, the Hon Jenny Mikakos MP, launched the Laying the Foundations eLearning course at the Pauline Gandel Children’s Gallery, Melbourne Museum.<\/p>\n

Laying the Foundations<\/a> is an interactive online learning package for early childhood educators and professionals working with children and families.<\/p>\n

\u201cQuality early years education is so important, and this online learning course will help improve our children\u2019s potential as they grow up\u201d, Minister Mikakos said.<\/p>\n

The course consists of five modules and all material is informed by the science of early brain development, current research and practice-based evidence.<\/p>\n

Also speaking at the launch was CCCH Director, Professor Frank Oberklaid, who said children’s early experiences shape their lifelong wellbeing.<\/p>\n

“Laying the Foundations develops understanding of how to support children\u2019s learning and development to give them the very best start.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cBuilding understanding of the importance of nurturing relationships, rich experiences, and how to support strong early childhood learning and development will have lasting benefits for our children and our communities.\u201d<\/p>\n
