SUMMARY:Engaging families: Building and sustaining helpful relationships with parents
DESCRIPTION:If services were to hear the truth about why families choose to avoid them\, it might be a bit uncomfortable. But it could provide helpful information about what needs to change. \nIf you’re inspired to make changes at your service to ensure that your service is as engaging as can be\, it can be tough to know where to start. How might a local service model look if it were truly shaped and influenced by the families it’s for? How can we enter into a genuine partnership with families to redevelop what we do and how we do it? \nThis one day workshop will explore the concept of parent engagement from the perspective of families who are service resistant. The workshop will help practitioners to engage\, and to identify and employ strategies that promote and support parent engagement within and across services. \nLearning objectives \nTo increase participants’: \n\nunderstanding of engagement\, which is a term that lacks uniform definition\nunderstanding of ‘engagement’ as a culture of practice\nunderstanding of worker and service characteristics that support parent engagement\nability to promote strategies for engagement within and across services.\n\nCourse outcome: Participants are able to identify and employ strategies that promote and support parent engagement within and across services. \n[button type=”primary” size=”lg” link=”http://www.trybooking.com/193976″] Enrol now [/button] \n
