Dr Mick Creati continues his work with the World Health Organization to develop a set of \"\"<\/a>core competencies for health workers who manage adolescent patients.\u00a0 This set of
\ncompetencies will serve as basis for curriculum design and training activities in developing countries.<\/p>\n

Mick recently visited the school of Nursing, Polytechnic University, Hong Kong, and Ministry of Health, Malaysia, to explore means of realistically incorporating these
\ncompetency standards into future training activities in these countries.<\/p>\n

In Malaysia, Mick was hosted by Dr. Nik Rubiah, Dr.Nazrila Hairizan, and Dr Thiyagar <\/a><\/a>Nadarajan, all of whom have spent considerable time studying and working at the
\nCentre for Adolescent Health, and have now returned to Malaysia and become the
\nmain drivers in improving Adolescent Health at national level.<\/a><\/p>\n

This work will continue until 2013, and be expanded into other countries, in collaboration with, and support from, the AusAID funded Women\u2019s and Children\u2019s Knowledge Hub, Burnet Institute and World Health Organization.<\/p>\n
