That&#8217;s why our Healthy Learning Systems team works at the intersection of health and educations to conduct research and strengthen capacity for whole-school approaches to health promotion.<\/p>\n<p>2025 has been a busy year for us, packed with speaking engagements, publications\u00a0and project development.<\/p>\n<p>We launched our <strong>Knowledge Exchange Residency Program,<\/strong>\u00a0welcoming our first resident <strong>Dasha Uy<\/strong>\u00a0from the Ministry of Health in the Philippines. You can <a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.rch.org.au\/cah\/2025\/10\/23\/introducing-our-first-knowledge-exchange-resident-dasha-uy\/\">read more about Dasha&#8217;s Residency here.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Our education partners Dr Ruth Aston and Katina Tan showcased our work on the <strong>Health Promoting Institutions (HPI) Conceptual Framework and Guidelines for Malaysia <\/strong>at the 2025 Evidence and Implementation Summit in Melbourne. Dr Monika Raniti and Prof Susan Sawyer presented at the Hume Councils Middle Years Forum earlier this year and Dr Jennifer Dam spoke at the Victorian Council of Social Service Education Forum in November. Both with a focus on how school systems can help young people remain engaged at school during the &#8220;middle years&#8221;, a developmentally busy stage that influences learning and wellbeing.<\/p>\n<p>A highlight was supporting master\u2019s student <strong>Naomi White<\/strong>\u00a0from Hume Anglican Grammar in her qualitative research exploring teachers\u2019 views on wellbeing. Congratulations\u00a0to Naomi on submitting her minor thesis!<\/p>\n<p>We\u2019ve also shared insights through several publications, including our former Honours student, Aneta Bandilovska&#8217;s paper on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.internationaljournalofwellbeing.org\/index.php\/ijow\/article\/view\/4149\">teacher readiness for health promotion<\/a>, a collaboration with A\/Prof Jess Heerde&#8217;s team on <a href=\"https:\/\/link.springer.com\/article\/10.1007\/s10935-025-00829-y\">school suspension and homelessness<\/a>,<a href=\"https:\/\/www.internationaljournalofwellbeing.org\/index.php\/ijow\/article\/view\/4149\">\u00a0<\/a>and a <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.nationalelfservice.net\/mental-health\/suicide\/school-connectedness-suicide\/\" data-auth=\"NotApplicable\" data-linkindex=\"1\">Mental Elf Blog<\/a><\/strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.nationalelfservice.net\/mental-health\/suicide\/school-connectedness-suicide\/\" data-auth=\"NotApplicable\" data-linkindex=\"2\">\u00a0on the role of school connectedness in suicide prevention<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Looking ahead, we\u2019ll publish evaluation findings from our <strong>Health-Promoting Schools training program<\/strong>\u00a0next year.<\/p>\n<p>We\u2019re also accepting EOIs for our next Knowledge Exchange resident.
