This showcase will explore key themes through presentations and panel discussions:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Session 1: Leveraging Global Data to Close Evidence Gaps in Adolescent Health<\/li>\n<li>Session 2: Addressing the Adolescent Mental Health Crisis<\/li>\n<li>Youth Panel: Youth Engagement in Research<\/li>\n<li>Session 3: Tackling Adolescent Health Challenges Beyond Clinical Settings<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Join the conversation as we navigate these critical issues and explore pathways for meaningful impact in adolescent health.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Panel discussions will include<\/strong>: Youth advocates from the CREYATE network, early-career researchers from the ELN, and leaders in adolescent health.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Who is this event for?<\/strong> All Melbourne Children&#8217;s Campus partners, researchers, stakeholders, students, and policy makers.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Location:<\/strong> Ella Latham auditorium, Royal Children\u2019s Hospital, 50 Flemington Road, Parkville, Victoria 3052<\/li>\n<li><strong>Time: <\/strong>10:00am &#8211; 3:30pm (including morning tea and lunch)\n<ul>\n<li>Session 1: 10.00 &#8211; 11.10 am<\/li>\n<li>Session 2: 11.40 am &#8211; 1.00 pm<\/li>\n<li>Session 3: 2.00 &#8211; 3.10 pm<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>This event is supported by the Centre of Research Excellence (CRE) for Driving Global Investment in Adolescent Health<\/strong> (<a href=\"https:\/\/url.au.m.mimecastprotect.com\/s\/0YwACJyByvCgy4wzHmTXHyMzyF?domain=cah.mcri.edu.au\">learn more<\/a>)<strong>.<\/strong><\/p>\n<h3>Background<\/h3>\n<p>In 2020 the <strong>Centre for Adolescent Health,<\/strong> Murdoch Children&#8217;s Research Institute was awarded a five-year <a href=\"https:\/\/url.au.m.mimecastprotect.com\/s\/YtxZCK1D1wsZ9AWwSyUkH5KoB7?domain=cah.mcri.edu.au\">Centres of Research Excellence<\/a> grant from the National Health and Medical Research Council (NHMRC). Led by Prof. Susan Sawyer and the late Prof. George Patton, the grant focused on defining the health needs of adolescents in neglected areas of adolescent health including mental health, non-communicable diseases, injury and violence\u00a0to deliver research that drives investment in adolescent health.<\/p>\n<p>The CRE scheme supports capacity building of the next generation of researchers, from this the <strong>Emerging Leaders Network (ELN) of the Centre of Research Excellence for Driving Global Investment in Adolescent Health<\/strong> was established. The ELN includes PhD students, post-doctoral researchers, and professionals working in adolescent health, based locally, interstate, and internationally.
