We received feedback that the events were \u201cstimulating and informative\u201d and the networking afterwards was equally welcomed. One participant commented \u201cI enjoyed the informality and the opportunity to mix with the guests and panellists\u201d while another noted, \u201cIt was a wonderful networking event and the speakers were such an amazing calibre. Inspiring.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Melbourne has great diversity in its adolescent health and wellbeing work. It crosses sectors, disciplines, departments and universities but there are few opportunities to come together. The <em>Catalysing Connections for Adolescent Health and Wellbeing <\/em>events provide researchers, practitioners, policy makers and implementers this opportunity to discuss topics of mutual interest.<\/p>\n<p><strong>At this stage<\/strong>, we are still hoping to host two <em>Catalysing Connections <\/em>events in the latter half of 2020.<\/p>\n<p>The first event has been tentatively planned for <strong>September<\/strong> and convened by Dr Lisa Mundy and will focus on the primary to secondary school transition.<\/p>\n<p>The second event is planned for late <strong>October<\/strong> and convened by Dr Rohan Borschmann with a focus on self-harm.<\/p>\n<p>Details of these events will be confirmed closer to the date, dependant on the resolution of the COVID -19 outbreak.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>As a reminder, information and video recaps from the events can be found here:\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.rch.org.au\/cah\/education_training\/Professional_development\/\">https:\/\/www.rch.org.au\/cah\/education_training\/Professional_development\/<\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px\"><strong>Paediatrics 2040: the future of child and adolescent health services<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px\">On 3rd\u00a0April 2019, the Centre for Adolescent Health hosted the inaugural\u00a0<em>Catalysing Connections for Adolescent Health and Wellbeing\u00a0<\/em>networking event with guest presenter Professor Russell Viner from the UK. The session discussed challenges around the provision of quality adolescent health care including the fragmentation in health services.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px\"><strong>Everyone\u2019s business: schools, mental health, and learning<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px\">On 1st August, 70 people attended the second\u00a0<em>Catalysing Connections<\/em>\u00a0event. The topic of the evening was, \u2018Everyone\u2019s business: schools, mental health and learning\u2019.
