With this current figure expected to reach 2 billion by 2030, \u00a0The <a href=\"http:\/\/www.un.org\/en\/index.html\">United Nations<\/a> held their 73<sup>rd<\/sup> session of the UN General Assembly on the 24<sup>th<\/sup> September to discuss what young people of today want; a sustainable and peaceful world that recognises their rights for empowerment, personal development, education and training for employment.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">This has led to the launch of a new initiative entitled the \u2018<a href=\"https:\/\/www.un.org\/youthenvoy\/youth-un\/\">Youth2030: The United Nations Youth Strategy<\/a>\u2019 with the intention to:<\/p>\n<ul style=\"text-align: justify\">\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none\">\n<ul style=\"text-align: justify\">\n<li>Advance the rights of young people in all their diversity around the world<\/li>\n<li>Engage and benefit from the insights of young people<\/li>\n<li>Ensure youth participation in the strategy and its implementation and review in 2030<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">The session also introduced the global partnership \u2013 <a href=\"http:\/\/www.genunlimited.org\/\">Generation Unlimited<\/a>, another part to the strategy which aims to ensure that every young person is education, training or employed by 2030.
