Time?<\/p>\n<p>Time to enrol in the University of Melbourne\u2019s (and the Centre&#8217;s) <a href=\"https:\/\/www.coursera.org\/learn\/youth-health\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff\">Global Adolescent Health<\/span><\/a> short course! &#x1f60a;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.rch.org.au\/cah\/files\/2018\/07\/Prof-George-Patton-Prof-Susan-Sawyer_2.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" wp-image-2628 alignright\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.rch.org.au\/cah\/files\/2018\/07\/Prof-George-Patton-Prof-Susan-Sawyer_2.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"304\" height=\"170\" \/><\/a>Hang on, what exactly is this about and why should I care? It\u2019s simple &#8211; the Global Adolescent Health course is taught by two leading academics from the Murdoch Children\u2019s Research Institute &#8211; Centre for Adolescent Health; Professor\u2019s Susan Sawyer and George Patton, with lots of amazing and knowledgeable guest speakers. Ok, now you\u2019ve really got my attention.<\/p>\n<p>If that wasn\u2019t exciting enough, just wait until you hear about the course content! You\u2019ll learn about the social determinants of adolescent health, how the changes that occur during adolescence and puberty affect the brain, you&#8217;ll be discussing major health and social issues that affect young people globally (major risky behaviours) and even how we can aim to improve on investing in the healthcare for 25% of the world\u2019s population &#8211; youth!<\/p>\n<p>And if didn\u2019t get any better than that. It\u2019s only 6-8 weeks (approx. 22 hours of study) to complete. 6-8 weeks of online video lectures, discussions, quizzes and written work. You\u2019ll never be late for a lecture again because 8:30 AM is just<em> too<\/em> early get out of your warm bed.<\/p>\n<p>Monday 30<sup>th<\/sup> July is the commencement date for this course.
