Following her initial career in teaching she switched to health education, first working with the Centre for Adolescent Health in a drug education role within the Parkville Youth Justice Centre, then within the beyondblue Schools Research Initiative, before her current role.

For the past decade, Andrea has been the coordinator of the University’s postgraduate program in Adolescent Health and Wellbeing, overseeing the Graduate Certificate, Graduate Diploma and Master of Adolescent Health and Wellbeing.
