Jim was, one of the first (if not the first?) regional paediatricians in Victoria, when he set up in practice as a paediatrician in Geelong, almost fifty years ago.<\/p>\n<p>In the early 1980s, when Chairman of the Ethics Committee at Deakin University, Jim was the <strong>&#8220;whistleblower&#8221;<\/strong> in a notorious case of scientific fraud that was ultimately proven, albeit after the death of the perpetrator.<\/p>\n<p>He was highly respected as a fine paediatrician.
