Her research, in The Royal Children\u2019s Hospital Research Institute, into infantile gastro-enteritis led to the discovery of Rotavirus in 1973 and her ongoing research identified a strain of the virus in children who did not display rotavirus symptoms.\u00a0This led eventually (after more than 30 years of work) to the development of a Rotavirus Vaccine.
