Some members may have been aware of a tentative plan to organise a visit to the Stokes Collection and Forest Glade gardens at Mount Macedon in March 2020.
The executive committee visited the site last week to assess its safety and feasibility for Alumni members and their partners. The conclusion was that the planned outing would be too tiring for many members. The tour of the Stokes Collection (2 1/4 hours) followed by lunch elsewhere and then the opportunity to enjoy the spectacular gardens at Forest Glade, with an hour’s bus journey at both ends, would be likely to make for a long and exhausting day for all but the younger and fittest members of the group.
With regret it was decided that the visit should be postponed while we look at alternatives.
