AktiviTEAM – a group comprising physicians and business people from Germany recently rode into RCH to complete a 10 day 1,200km Sydney to Melbourne Cyling Tour. The team was joined by RCH colleagues for the last 80km leg of the ride from the Mornington Peninsula where they treated to a traditional Melbourne welcome -experiencing all four seasons in one day – even in one hour!

AktiviTEAM is passionate and dedicated to raising awareness and funds for childhood cancer. More than $1 million is raised annually for childhood cancer around the world.

The Australian ride was a first for the German team who raised $20,000.00, generously donated to the RCH Foundation. These funds will go towards purchase of supportive equipment to improve quality of life and greatly assisting children with life limiting conditions to be as comfortable possible.

Professor Paul Monagle, Acting Director of the RCH Cancer Centre, and Dr Jenny Hynson Consultant Pediatrician, Victorian Paediatric Palliative Care Program officially congratulated and thanked the riders, accepting the donation on behalf of families caring for terminally ill children.
