Patients ready to move into the brand new Royal Children’s Hospital

In what will be a historic occasion for Victoria, the new Royal Children’s Hospital (RCH) will be accepting patients for the first time tomorrow.

From 7am, approximately 200 patients will be moved from the current (old) hospital to the new hospital right next door.

Patients will be moved via purpose-built internal passageways linking the two hospitals.

The Emergency department at the new hospital will open at 8.00am for children requiring emergency medical care.

RCH CEO Professor Christine Kilpatrick will be available for two doorstops tomorrow: 9.30am and 4.00pm outside the front of the new RCH.  She will provide updates on the progress of the move.
