The Royal Children’s Hospital (RCH) Education Institute facilitated learning programs and activities across ward and public areas of the hospital in celebration of Cultural Diversity Week (19–23 March 2012) and Harmony Day (21 March 2012).
The Main Street of the hospital came alive daily with creative learning workshops for children and young people. Workshops featured countries from around the world including Ti-Rakau from New Zealand, puppetry from Vietnam and body painting from India – see the full timetable of workshops.
Patients, families and staff contributed to a cultural map across the week by placing a sticker on the map to acknowledge their personal heritage. Stickers were placed across many countries from around the globe, demonstrating the wonderful mix of cultures which make up the RCH.
